Terms and Conditions: Sure Choice
Roofing
These Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts for roofing services provided by Sure Choice Roofing (the “Contractor”) to the
“Customer”.
1. Scope of Work & Professional Standards
1.1 Sure Choice Roofing specialises exclusively in full re-roofs and new roof installations. We do not undertake minor repair work. 1.2 Our quotations assume the removal of a single layer of existing roofing material. If additional layers or unexpected hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos) are discovered during the strip-back, additional labour and disposal costs will be incurred. 1.3 The Customer shall allow reasonable use of site services, including water, electricity, and toilet facilities, at no cost to the
Contractor.
2. Quotation Validity & Variations
2.1 Due to the volatility of raw material costs (such as lead, timber, and uPVC), our quotations are guaranteed for 6 weeks from the date of the proposal. 2.2 If hidden structural deficiencies (e.g. rotten rafters, wall plates, or defective decking) are discovered after work commences, we will provide a separate fixed-price quote for the additional work before proceeding.
3. Payment Terms & 25% Deposit
3.1 Deposit: A deposit of 25% of the total project value is required upon confirmation of the order to secure your installation date and trigger the procurement of materials. 3.2 Legal Note on Deposit: This deposit is a “Good Faith Payment” used to cover immediate out-of-pocket expenses (administration, site preparation, and material ordering). Once materials have been ordered specifically for your project, the deposit becomes non-refundable to reflect these actual losses. 3.3 Final Balance: The remaining 75% balance is due immediately upon the day of completion of the works and the issue of our final invoice. 3.4 Late Payment: Overdue accounts are subject to interest charges of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated from the day after completion. 3.5 Insurance Claims: If the project is part of an insurance claim, the Customer remains liable for full payment upon completion, regardless of when the insurance company settles the claim.
4. Statutory Requirements & Safety
4.1 Gas Safety: Customers must have gas flues inspected by a Gas Safe registered engineer during and after the roofing works at their own cost. 4.2 Cables & Assets: It is the Customer’s responsibility to re-position telecommunication cables or satellite dishes before work commences. We accept no responsibility for signal disruption or damage to these items.
5. Protecting Your Property
5.1 Internal Impact: Due to the nature of stripping and fitting new roof structures, minor interior cosmetic issues, such as hairline cracks in ceiling plaster or vibrations affecting wall-mounted items, may occur. Sure Choice Roofing is not responsible for these minor effects of standard installation. 5.2 Site Safety: The work area and scaffolding are strictly off-limits to the Customer, children, and animals for the duration of the works.
6. Our Guarantee
6.1 We provide ain Insurance backed guarantee on all new installations and full re-roofs. 6.2 Transferability: This guarantee is fully transferable to the new homeowner if the property is sold within the designated period. 6.3 Condition: Guarantee certificates will be withheld until the final balance is settled in full.
7. Right to Cancel & Waiver for Early Commencement
7.1 Statutory Right: You have a 14-day “cooling-off” period from the date of signing this agreement during which you may cancel for any reason. 7.2 Early Commencement: If you request that work commences before the 14-day period ends, you must sign an Express Request for Early Commencement. 7.3 Waiver Impact:
By signing the waiver, you acknowledge that if you subsequently cancel within the 14 days, you will be liable to pay for all labour performed and materials used up to the point of cancellation. If the service is fully completed within this time, the right to cancel is lost.
8. Law and Jurisdiction
8.1 This Agreement and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and
construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales.
